Cryptids (partial list) ....

BIGFOOT

The term Bigfoot is used to describe a legendary race of ape men all over the world. The term is sometimes synonymized with Sasquatch, a hominoid cryptid found in North America.

SASQUATCH

(Gigantopithecus canadensis or Anthropoidipes ameriborealis) is a type of Bigfoot said to inhabit areas of North America. The term Sasquatch was first used in 1920 by British Columbian school teacher J.W. Burns. It is an anglicized version of the Halkomelem word sásq'ets, which translates to "wild man".

YETI

The Yeti, also known as the Abominable Snowman, is an Asian Bigfoot found in the Himalayas. Inhabiting Nepal, Tibet, Russia, and India, the Yeti is probably the closest living relative to Gigantopithecus, a prehistoric ape that lived in Asia three hundred thousand years ago.

SKUNK APE

The Skunk Ape or Myakka Ape is a bipedal humanoid, possibly a Bigfoot, reported in the south eastern United States including Texas, Georgia and Louisiana, but most notably in the Florida Everglades.

It has black fur and glowing red eyes, unusual for most primates because most primates lack a tapetum lucidum, a layer of tissue behind the retina that reflects light.

The Skunk Ape's most obvious character is its terrible odor, which gives it its name.

MOTHMAN

The state of West Virginia has had its fair share of strange and often inexplicable events such the visitation of the Flatwoods Monster and Indrid Cold, but perhaps the strangest yet is the arrival of the creature known as the Mothman, which changed the sleepy little town of Point Pleasant forever when it swooped in one cold autumn night in 1966.

Today, Mothman is one of the most well-known cryptids in the world, made famous partly by John Keel's book (later adapted to film) The Mothman Prophecies. Mothman is also hunted in Mountain Monsters on Destination America.ate with the latest news and trends in our community. Join our online community today!

NESSIE

The Loch Ness Monster, also known by the nickname Nessie (scientific name: Nessiteras rhombopteryx), is probably the creature that most often leaps to mind when ordinary people think about cryptozoology: the study of animals that may or may not exist. Nessie is virtually a symbol of cryptozoology. This creature has probably been the object of more sustained media attention than any other individual type of cryptid, with the possible exception of the Sasquatch, and some less traditional cryptids such as the Grey Aliens.

CHAMP

Champ, Champie, Champy or the Lake Champlain Monster is the name given to a reputed lake monster living in Lake Champlain. The lake is a natural freshwater lake in North America and partially situated across the U.S.-Canada border in the Canadian province of Quebec and across the Vermont-New York border. While there is no scientific evidence for the cryptid's existence, there have been over 300 reported sightings.

CHUPRACABRA

El Chupacabra is a cryptid that is renowned for its attacks on livestock, hence the Spanish name "the goatsucker." It supposedly eats or mainly sucks the blood of chickens, goats and other farm animals and pets. It has been reported all over the Americas, particularly the south western United States, Mexico and Puerto Rico. There are two common versions of the Chupacabra. There is a reptilian kind - the true Chupacabra - and a canid kind, which are also called blue dogs. There have been more than 2,000 sightings of both types. When it sucks blood, it allegedly makes an odd noise

WEREWOLF

The Werewolf, also known as a Lycanthrope (from the Greek λυκάνθρωπος: λύκος, lukos, "wolf", and άνθρωπος, anthrōpos, man), Wolfman or Dogman, is a mythological or folkloric human with the ability to shape shift into a wolf or an anthropomorphic wolf-like creature, either purposely or after being placed under a curse.
